Smith Bathroom Remodel, A Brighter Master Bath Built for Daily Comfort

Before, a dated layout that felt darker and less functional for everyday routines.

After, a bright, modern master bathroom with clean lines and a calm, inviting finish.

The Smith Bathroom Remodel started with a common challenge, the master bathroom looked and felt dated, and it simply was not working for the way the homeowners wanted to live. The space was functional on paper, but in real day to day use it did not feel comfortable, relaxing, or enjoyable.

The goal for this remodel was straightforward, brighten the room, modernize the finishes, and create a bathroom that feels peaceful. The Smiths wanted a clean, inviting aesthetic that would hold up to daily routines while still feeling like a retreat at the beginning and end of the day.

Our solution focused on a full refresh of the key features that define the experience of a master bath. We updated the plumbing fixtures with new Kohler fixtures, added a modern glass shower enclosure, and installed fresh tile in the shower for a crisp, updated look. A new freestanding bathtub became a focal point, and the new sink cabinets with a composite stone countertop brought both durability and a polished finish to the vanity area.

To keep the entire room feeling lighter and more cohesive, we repainted and replaced the flooring with a brighter wood grain tile. That choice helped warm up the space without making it feel heavy, and it tied the updated elements together so the room reads as intentional and complete.

The surprise came once we began demolition and pulled up the existing tile. We found that the subflooring was not up to code, which is one of those hidden conditions you cannot always see until the work is underway. Rather than building on top of a weak base, we replaced the subfloor properly and added additional support under the shower and tub to help ensure the finished bathroom performs the way it should for years to come.

With the structure corrected and the finishes installed, the resolution was exactly what the homeowners were after, a master bathroom that matches the calm, peaceful, and inviting aesthetic the Smiths envisioned. The updated layout elements, brighter surfaces, and modern materials all work together to make the space feel clean, comfortable, and easy to maintain.
